Porridge love

Oh porridge, I always forget how much i like you.

your warming feel as you fill my tummy on a cold morning, the subtle flavours you can be bought in, like oat so simple’s almond and honey. or oat so simple’s golden syrup. or just plain porridge oats with jam.

jam is always good in porridge.

Porridge you fill me up, and stop me from snacking, at least for an hour or so.

until chocolate stares me in the face, and jumps down my throat.

dont be disheartened porridge, i am still full up with you, chocolate was just too pushy.

i’m sorry, it wont happen again.

maybe.

Lack of sleep = a grumpy dieter

Well, as you can probably tell i haven’t had much sleep. one minute i was cold, the next too hot, then my clock was too loud and so it went on through the early hour of the morning until now…
It will be interesting to see how this affects my healthy eating.

My guess, its not going to go well.

Something for me to think about and put into action in my own journey, a good starting point for change methinks..

WaterWeight

Good Morrow!
good day today, woke up, weighed myself, found out I have lost half a stone in 4 days. And i have NO IDEA how. well actually thats a little bit of a lie, ive been quite bloated so methinks that has passed from the excessive water drinking yesterday. plus the water drinking speeding up metabolism. . . More of the same today hopefully. having a day out so I think im going to bring my giant water bottle with me so I can make sure im drinking lots of water.  and maybe bring some healthy snacks so that i dont end up buying anything i shouldnt…like biscuits…again.

to sum up, pleased that im back under 13st, going to drink loads of water, and not snack so much. oh, plus do loads of walking while accompanying my housemate shopping .

water+exercise+superfood= win!

🙂

Water Meter

Water count, almost 2 litres and still drinking! woop! first time in a while ive managed to get this close to finishing 2litres in one day. Definitly feeling the slosh now. Ontop of a pasta dinner..no evening snacking for me… maybe crackers later… wait. no. no snacks! must resist…

time for Gok 😀

Snacking vs water

Snacking is always a bit of an issue with me. whenever im bored or watching TV or a film i want to nibble on food. usually sweet empty calories like biscuits, crisps, sweets, chocolate.. all the usual suspects. however, i quite like ryvita and snack a jacks. which are supposedly better for you. but biscuits taste SOO GOOOD. . it’s just not the same… part of my issue really haha. I can quite easily sit and eat a whole pack of custard creams. I have done in the past without even realising. today though – not a custard cream in sight. Milk chocolate digestives instead 😉 only three.. not a packet. which is a step towards the better. I suppose. Craving more at the moment, will attempt to drink water instead!

Apparently when you want to snack or feel ‘hungry’ you are actually just thirsty. I have noticed that from drinking more water im thirsty more often, and by trying to drink more water im feeling full and sloshy, reducing how much I want to snack. Im thinking maybe i should employ this idea more often.  and not buy biscuits.

targets: finish my water, get some snack a jacks.
