Race For Life Training Week #6

Hi, my name is Becky and I’ve been running for 6 weeks. How has that even happened? I’ve never stuck to an exercise routine for this long before. Ever. Except for PE at school but I’m not sure that counts. I think having a specific event to train for is what has given me the motivation to stick with this and see it through to the bitter end! With this determination, I give you this weeks runs…

Run #13: week 5.1 of C25K – this week is a little different, each run has a different structure. The first one is 5 mimutes running, 3 minutes walking x 3. Sisterbell accompanied me again on this one, and I felt like we were a little more on even footing. Just a little. I did have to stop half way through the second 5 min run, but only to stretch out my ankles. They were sore and stiff. My stop only cost me 30 seconds or so, and I completed all of the rest of it despite having a god awful stitch throughout the last run. The next run is 8 mins running…I’m both looking forward to it and dreading it all at the same time…

Run #14: week 5.2 of C25K – this run was 8 mins running, 5 mins walking x 2. I was dreading this a little, and I think I was right to as I was not able to run for a full 8 mins. I only took very short breaks, but ut was hard work. It was a good feeling that there was only 2 runs, which helped me to carry on. I was feeling good afterwars, and opted to move onto the next run rather than repeat it.

Run #15: week 5.3 of C25K – 20 minutes of running. I’m sorry what? Thats quite a big jump. I gave it a shot anyway, and it was awful. I couldnt do it. My ankles were killing me, I was frustrated that o couldnt do it-especially as there is only 2.5 weeks until my race for life. I ended up sobbing a bit. Sob-running is never attractive. Ever. I’m going to repeat week 5.2 and 5.3…

Weigh In Wednesday!

Weigh in day is here again!

Last week: 231 pounds
This week: 229 pounds
Difference: -2 pounds

Woooo! I knew this week wood be good. I had a good feeling about it. I am a little bit gutted to not have lost the 7 pounds I was hoping for before Ben Nevis… But at least I’ve lost a little bit, right?

The rest of this week I am all about eating in moderation and not going crazy. Especially given that I can’t exercise because I’ve twisted my ankle. Again. Right before going to Scotland. I am so annoyed about this, you have no idea! I’m hoping it wil be ok by next week, but I’ve got a feeling I’ll be needing my ankle support… 😦 such a clutz! I was literally just walking and my ankle went over. Ugh.

Next week I’ll be in Scotland, so no weigh in then. But next week ill be back for my wednesday weigh in 🙂

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Weigh in Day

Last weeks weight: 211 pounds

Current weight: 211 pounds

Goal for next week: 209

Maintained. Much better than putting back on which was what I was expecting. It’s been a bad food week! goal for next week is lose 2 pounds. I’ll be doing a lot  of walking this week so I’m hoping to tamper that with healthy foods and generate a loss.

The squat challenge is still ongoing, however I missed a couple of days so now I’m playing catch up by not having my rest days. If I am not too tired by this evening I may try to catch up on a days squats, and then I’ll be back on track.

I really want to start running again. I’ve been thinking about this this week and I want to get back into it. It felt good-afterwards anyway! I’m not sure if my ankle will be able to handle me running. It’s been sore and stiff the past couple of days. I guess I should keep exercising it and see how it feels in a few days!

weigh in day!

Put back on the 2 pounds I lost, but that’s not a big deal, or a big surprise  It’s my birthday tomorrow so have been a little naughty over the weekend with my food!

once I’m back to normal eating and exercising I’m sure it will drop off again!

Injury update: swelling has started to go down on my ankle, and its easier to put weight on it, still sore though! I’m hoping for a quick recovery, although with the snow that’s currently falling I’m concerned I’ll slip and hurt it more!
