Weigh In Not-Wednesday

I didn’t weigh in yesterday because I was away from my scales. I know I must have put on weight because I’ve done nothing but eat recently. Urrrg.

I found my old scales, and weighed myself on them. They are DEFINITELY incorrect. Told me I was almost a stone heavier. Erm, I doubt I put that on in a week. Bloody things.

Currently ill, cold, stuffy head, sensitive stomach etc, so I’m alternately craving foods, and feeling nauseous. Have eaten quite healthily today, which is good. I need to keep this up and ensure I don’t get tempted while at work. Especially by magical words like ‘Nandos’ which may or may not have happened this week…So bad. I cant help it, I just loves me some food.I want to exercise today, but I feel so naff, that it would probably be a bad idea. I would rather get better first…But maybe I’ll do the 30 day challenge. I haven’t missed a single day so far! It would be such a shame to start missing days now.




Weight loss, exercise and healthy eating have all not been going well at all this past week or so. At all. So bad.

I need to kick myself up the butt again and crack down on my bad eating habits. I’m never going to hit my graduation goal now, but maybe I can make some headway towards it in the next 4 weeks.

I’m desperate to get back into running, but by the time I’ve been getting home all I want to do is chill out and do nothing all evening!

Basically, I am SO lazy.

Running Fail

I went running today, on week 2 of the couch to 5k.

Felt really good as the weather had just brightened up when I left my flat. First interval went well, felt really natural and slipped into the jogging easily. For the last 30 seconds I was struggling, I have a bit of a phlegmy chest at the moment so breathing was hard and my ankles were not very happy. I was wearing my ankle support, but my other ankle felt like it was straining. by the second interval both of my ankles were sore and I was jogging unbelievably slowly to catch my breath.

I got to the half way point, and I had to stop. My ankles were sore, and my breathing was awful. Once I had rested, rehydrated and recovered a bit, I walked the rest of the way back. I walked with a brisk pace and went a slightly longer route back to compensate for not jogging for any of it.

Maybe I’ll drop back to week 1 of the C25K programme the next time I go out to run.

30DS: Day 6

I found it hard today, I was tired, hadn’t eaten anything, not in the best of moods, and it all made me feel demoralised. Still got through it though. Just about.

I don’t seem to be losing any weight or losing inches as of yet, but I’ll do an official measurement/weigh in/picture on day 10 (as well as my usual weigh day on monday)

I’ve been eating back the majority of the calories I burn, I need to be strict with myself and not do this so much if I want to see any real differences.

Just Keep Swimming…

Finally went swimming today! Kept intending to go but then other things happened or needed to be done…you know how it goes.

I’d like to go swimming everyday, but I think that could get expensive! The gym has recently started doing swim-only memberships, which might be worth looking into, but as I get student swim rates anyway I would have to compare them to see which is cheaper!

did 20 lengths, a little over 1/4 mile. I’m really not a very good swimmer, very slow and not great at swimming in general.

definitely think looking into doing it more often would be a good idea, especially for when I don’t want to run or cant run because of footpaths being icy.

This week is week 2 of my 4 week shed, not off to a flying start, but the weather has impeded my exercise plans. Also an excessive amount of cereal bars had a negative effect.

This week will be better. I will swim, work out at home, and not buy any cereal bars.

Running + Snow ?

I had planned on going running this week, but it snowed. I’ve been thinking about how plausible it is to run in the snow…I imagine you would need some specialist gear for snow running? like decent trail trainers? and thermals of course…

Does anyone run in the snow?  If so, is it not really dangerous because of the ice?
