Happy New Year!

Hello 2018, and hello readers – if there is anyone out there.

2017 has been a tough year with lots of ups and downs. I’m done with making excuses for myself though, it’s about time I suck it up and power through.

I’m no longer going to Slimming World, I’d lost faith in it and wasn’t inspired. I could have tried another group, but I don’t want to. Andrew and I have a plan, a food plan which is healthy, full of fruit, vegetables and protein. We’ll also be food prepping for the week ahead, to ensure we have plenty of go-to healthy meals.

Over the next few weeks I’m challenging myself to do a 5k every week. I signed up to parkrun – free 5k trails around the country on Saturday mornings run by volunteers. I went to my first one this morning, and got in at a time of 58:06. My PB baseline! Now I have something to work from. I walked the course, and ran the last 100 meters or so to cross the finish line.

I feel proud of myself for completing it, I wanted to give up in the first mile as my back and ankles were painful. I hope next week will be less painful.

Weigh in Wednesday

First Weigh in Wednesday in 2015!

Maintaining is better than gaining! Though during the week I went up and dropped back down again, so…technically I lost weight this week. Just not in comparison to last week!

Food
I’ve been very so-so on my food this week. I need to put more of a concious effort into the choices I make and stop letting my emotions choose the food. #emotionaleater.

Exercise
I went back to running on Monday, it was difficult! Harder than I thought it would be. Now that I’m a bit more recovered from it I am cautiously looking forward to tomorrows run…Kind of.

Sleep
Sleep is always a big problem for me. Back to work means early mornings and late nights. I need to get into the habit of being in bed as soon as possible after getting home from work!

Food: Eat 1500 calories 6 / 7 days
Exercise: Burn 3500 calories

Monday Runday

I went for a run! Yaaay!

It was so hard. It’s been over a month since my last outdoor run, and my god could I feel it. I’ve lost the little fitness I had built up in regards to running. Tonight I had painful lower back pains – it felt like my lower back was in a spasm or a cramp. I’ve never had that before when running – is this a thing? A running thing that happens? I dont know. I had lead legs, shin pain, breathing problems, sore ankles, and the weird back pain. It wasn’t fun…
